Noise as Opening

Noise as Opening was performed as part of Fruits of Our Labor alongside LA Fog and artist Michael Bizon. Fruits of Our Labor took place on 12/13/15, at Olga's studio in Commerce, CA.

This reading was inspired by a work I performed earlier in the year, Trance Object, at Oupost Projects.

In Noise as Opening, I play upon the trance script to examine the concepts and perceptions of noise in our environment generally, specifically in Los Angeles, and more precisely at Olga's studio which sits adjacent to the 5 and 710 freeways, in Commerce, CA. This script was inspired by the writings of Michael Serres (noise/ parasite) and Jean Luc Nancy (listening). (18 mins.)
